Yes, I do think it means he was initiated by Mithras and Christ. There's a bit of synchronicity there, as Christ and Mithras are my two primary patron deities. At some point, I'd like to write up some of my speculations on that for a future post here. One thing that had occurred to me, before I read about Jung's initiatory vision, is that modern followers of the deities of the ancient mystery cults might not need some archaeological discovery to reveal a means of initiation. The gods and goddesses behind those mystery initiations are still very much around, and can initiate modern followers into new forms of revived mystery cults for the present day. The dream world is a real and powerful place.

I have heard bits and pieces of von Franz's initiatory dream. I would love to read a fuller description of it, but what I do know sounds very similar to what Carl Jung experienced. Makes offering her some devotion an even more reasonable idea. Jung opened up a potent source of spiritual power, and I imagine those closest to him got very high doses of that power. And continuing with your Christ/Apostles comparison, we might well be in the generation that corresponds to the early Church fathers of the 2nd century. An interesting thought!
